HomePhotosHow-ToVideoLinks

These are various links that I have found useful over time. The Links will be broken into various sections such as Computer, Webmaster stuff, Outdoor, Product Review sites, CANADIAN online stores and some Fun Sites. I will add more as I find better sites.

MultiMedia Sites

WWUG - DMN Forums This is THE collection of forums for any multimedia programs out there. They have forums out there for Premiere Photshop and just about any program for photo video or web page construction. Look along the left for the SELECT A FORUM link and then select your forum you want. If I can't find what I want in the previous posts then I ussually get a reply within hours from my new post.

Creative Cow has tutorials for doing the various effects within Premiere and AfterEffects. Includes The Matrix Bullet time effect

Steven Gotz Another Premiere page with links to forums the missing codec problem in Premiere 6.5 and other things. not bad.

Wrigley Videos this site has a bunch of movie tutorials on how to do Picture in Picture and various other things. useful when someones showing you compared to reading it. Site seems to be temporarily down but I will leave the link up for a while anyhow.

Computer sites

The Screen Savers is a television show on Tech TV about computers that is pretty informative and up to date. You can write in and ask them questions see their shownotes, look in their archives for previous questions and check out various links that hey recommend.

Ask Mr. Excel This is THE website for Microsoft Excel operating questions. These guys are great for answering questions about how to get Excel to do what you want it to do (using functions or macros or whatever). They answer questions quickly (sometimes within the hour) and they run an archive of questions that you can reference. The archive is huge so I recommend using the Find function (CTRL+F) in your browser to help you find what you're looking for.

Tucows A good site for downloading freeware or shareware programs it's a good place to look for those little programs that you would only use once in a while and don't really want to pay money for them. Has every little utility that you can think of. Another good site like this is ZDnet.

Maximum PC A computer magazine that is pretty good their website posts articles, links and various other things.

Game Copy World This site is an excellent reference for how to burn CD's (for Backup purposes only) of games and other stuff. It has tutorials, product reviews( software and burners) and No CD patches for a lot of games. Also tells you how to burn PS2 games and all sorts of things

Webmaster Sites

Find Sounds This is an awesome search engine for finding different sounds to use in your webpage or presentation. If you want to add bells and whistles they got it (get it?haha)!

ezboard Want to create a forum for your webpage so people can post messages or ask questions this is a free ( has an ad on it though) service for doing just that, not to hard to figure out and set up.

Dynamic Drive An excellent site that provides source code for javascript actions for free. You can create popups and fancy little actions. Has some useful tools and some downright useless and annoying stuff.

Web Authoring Stuff This site is a collection of links that has absolutely everything you need to make and monitor your website. From fonts to clipart to DHTML code and even has a tutorials link (bignose bird) but I recommend getting a book that you can easily reference if you're just learning. The SAMS or VISUAL QUICKSTART GUIDE series are really good, almost identical to the actual manuals that you buy from the companies that manufacture the software (ie Adobe or Dreamweaver) and they are usually less than 1/2 the price. They can be bought at CHAPTERS or whatever it's called now.

Your Name Free A URL and email forwarding company that is handy but is not actually free. This is good if you are moving around lots and always changing your email or website from provider to provider. All you have to do is go to these guys and you can keep on redirecting traffic to the right place.

Outdoor Sites

Judo An excellently done web site that explains Everything about the sport of Judo from the history to holds and throws.

Yukon Powderhounds A website of Yukon snowmobilers getting crazy air on their sleds. Updated daily takes your photo submissions and has classifieds and weather on it.

Boone and Crockett Hunting trophy record organization website has the biggest of each animal and a picture of it.

Outdoor Review This is a community based online review of Outdoor gear and clothes. I have compared it to products I have owned and agree with a lot of the reviews. Has a wide variety of gear and the site is easy to navigate.

Paintball Yukon A Paintball company operating in the Yukon on the Mayo Road (Klondike Hiway). Lots of Fun!!

up north adventures Up North Adventures Ltd. has been servicing visitors to the Yukon and locals alike for over 15 years. they are specialized in guided and self-guided canoe and kayak tours in the summer and snowmobile snowshoe or skiing tours in the winter. They also do Northern lights tours or ice fishing as well.

Canadian Online Stores

Futureshop An electronics and software store with not bad prices, decent comparing between models of items but a horrible on site search engine.

Compusmart Same as Futureshop but sometimes better pricing, no comparing between models, better search engine but anything over $75 and they pay the shipping, which is really good when you live way up here.

NCIX Computer store out of BC that has a forum for asking questions about products and decent prices.

Fun Sites

Homestar Runner This site has good funny flash cartoons. The section really worth checking out is the Strongbad emails.

Albino Blacksheep You have to kind of surf through this site and just see whats there. some of its good some isn't I personally like the toyota commercial and the lost smurf episode.

*There are others but I recently lost my favorites list so as I find more I will continue to put them up*

Product Review Sites

DP Review Community based digital photography review site with product comparison and a forum to post questions that you may have. This site can get pretty technical at times but is still pretty good.

Epinions Community based review site that is pretty extensive in its coverage. Covers computers and accessories, music, books, kid's stuff and just about everything you can think of.

Gamespot Video game site that has reviews news and cheats on all the latest games for all the different systems. Another decent site like like this one is IGN.
